Carnegie UK Trust in partnership with Community Finance Solutions will be running this seminar in April 2010. This is being funded through the Department for Communities and Local Government Empowerment Fund under the strand 'Community Involvement in Planning.' This seminar aims to provide a learning opportunity for CLT Practitioners and gives a chance to share skills and gain support and inspiration. The full programme is attached below. Join Scotland's first Civil Society Summit, 18 Feb 2010
Where traditional guardians of our society and economy have let citizens down, civil society can promote an alternative vision for a more equitable and sustainable future.
The event organisers believe this is a unique moment for Scotland’s major citizen-led organisations to come together. The need to listen and act with a shared voice is now more urgent than ever. The time to act is now.
The event aims to bring together voluntary and community organisations, trade unions, co-operatives, faith groups, campaign groups, and social enterprises to build an agenda for action. It is critical that this event attracts a wide audience from civil society, so we want to hear from you!

Seminar- Feeding Scotland Responsibly in a Changing World 21st Jan 2010
Edinburgh Conference Centre, Heriot Watt University- Thursday 21st January 2010
One Planet Food in partnership with Carnegie UK Trust are organising this seminar in light of the new National Food and Drink Policy for Scotland. The seminar links issues of food security and sustainable food production in Scotland with the global sovereignty and climate change.
Our aim is to strengthen key elements of Food Policy for Scotland and we hope that the seminar will lead to further in-depth work to engage civil society and parliament as well as food producers in shaping a fair and sustainable 'food future' for Scotland.

Tomorrow's Civil Economy
The Carnegie Inquiry into the Future of Civil Society is pleased to share a write up of a public event it hosted as part of Edinburgh's annual Festival of Politics.
More than 100 civil society representatives gathered at the event, held at the Scottish Parliament in August 2009, to debate how they could use their ‘moral muscle’ to help build a fairer, more sustainable economy.
